- 2 lbs chicken thighs
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon cumin
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 pita breads
- 1 cup lettuce, shredded
- 1 tomato, diced
- 1/2 cucumber, sliced
- 1/2 cup creamy garlic sauce
Instructions
- Marinate chicken with olive oil, cumin, paprika, turmeric, garlic powder, salt, and pepper for at least 1 hour.
- Preheat grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
- Cook chicken for 6-7 minutes on each side until fully cooked.
- Remove chicken and let it rest for 5 minutes.
- Slice chicken into strips.
- Warm pita bread on the grill for 1-2 minutes.
- Assemble shawarma by adding chicken, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, and garlic sauce to pita.
- Roll up pita and serve immediately.
Notes
- For extra flavor, marinate overnight.
- Adjust spices according to taste.
- Serve with extra sauce on the side.
