- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 2 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Yellow food coloring
- White frosting
- Chocolate chips for eyes
- Red fondant for comb
- Green fondant for grass
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, and baking powder.
- In another bowl, cream the butter and sugar until fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.
- Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk to the butter mixture.
- Add vanilla extract and yellow food coloring.
- Pour batter into greased cake pans.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cakes cool completely.
- Frost with white frosting and decorate with chocolate chips and fondant.
Notes
- You can use any cake flavor you prefer.
- Make sure the cake is completely cool before decorating.
- Use a serrated knife to level the cakes for even stacking.
