Ingredients

  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 cup egg noodles (optional)
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Place the chicken in a large pot and add water.
  2. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
  3. Add carrots, celery, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, and bay leaf.
  4. Reduce heat and simmer for about 1 hour.
  5. Remove chicken, let cool, and shred the meat.
  6. Return shredded chicken to the pot.
  7. If using egg noodles, add them and cook until tender.
  8. Remove bay leaf and garnish with parsley before serving.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use homemade chicken broth.
  • You can add other vegetables like peas or corn.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge.
