- 1 whole chicken, cut into pieces
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup barbecue sauce
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- Marinate chicken pieces in buttermilk for at least 2 hours.
- In a bowl, mix flour, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
- Dredge each chicken piece in the flour mixture, shaking off excess.
- Fry chicken in hot oil until golden brown and cooked through, about 15-20 minutes.
- Remove chicken and drain on paper towels.
- Brush with barbecue sauce before serving.
