Ingredients

  • 1 cup dried chickpeas
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Soak the chickpeas overnight in water.
  2. Drain and rinse the chickpeas.
  3. In a food processor, combine chickpeas, onion, garlic, parsley, cumin, coriander, baking powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Blend until a coarse mixture forms.
  5. Shape the mixture into small balls or patties.
  6. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
  7. Fry the falafels until golden brown on all sides.
  8. Drain on paper towels.
