Roasted Chicken with Smoked Paprika: 7 Heavenly Tips

Ingredients

  • 1 whole chicken (about 4 lbs)
  • 2 tablespoons smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 lemon, cut into quarters
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Fresh herbs (rosemary or thyme) for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a small bowl, mix smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Rub the spice mixture all over the chicken, including under the skin.
  4. Place lemon quarters inside the cavity of the chicken.
  5. Drizzle olive oil over the chicken.
  6. Place the chicken in a roasting pan and roast for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  7. Let the chicken rest for 10 minutes before carving.
  8. Garnish with fresh herbs before serving.
