Ingredients

  • 1 whole chicken, cut into pieces
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Marinate chicken in buttermilk for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  2. Mix flour, cayenne pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper in a bowl.
  3. Remove chicken from buttermilk and dredge in the flour mixture.
  4. Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Fry chicken in batches until golden brown and cooked through, about 12-15 minutes.
  6. Drain on paper towels before serving.

Notes

  • Adjust spiciness by adding more or less cayenne pepper.
