- 1 whole chicken, cut into pieces
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons cayenne pepper
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Marinate chicken in buttermilk for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Mix flour, cayenne pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper in a bowl.
- Remove chicken from buttermilk and dredge in the flour mixture.
- Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry chicken in batches until golden brown and cooked through, about 12-15 minutes.
- Drain on paper towels before serving.
Notes
- Adjust spiciness by adding more or less cayenne pepper.
- Serve with your favorite dipping sauce.
- Best enjoyed hot and fresh.
