- 2 cups sushi rice
- 1/4 cup rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 4 sheets nori (seaweed)
- 1/2 pound raw fish (like tuna or salmon)
- 1 cucumber, sliced
- 1 avocado, sliced
- Soy sauce for serving
- Wasabi for serving
Instructions
- Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
- Cook the rice according to the package instructions.
- Mix rice vinegar, sugar, and salt in a small bowl until dissolved.
- Once rice is cooked, transfer it to a bowl and add the vinegar mixture. Stir gently.
- Let the rice cool to room temperature.
- Place a sheet of nori on a bamboo mat.
- Spread a thin layer of rice over the nori.
- Add fish, cucumber, and avocado on top of the rice.
- Roll the sushi tightly using the bamboo mat.
- Slice the roll into bite-sized pieces and serve with soy sauce and wasabi.
